Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Released on November 26, 1986, The Voyage Home is the 4th film in the Star Trek franchise and completes the story arc begun in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and continued in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. It was directed by Leonard Nimoy, produced by Harve Bennett, and written by Steve Meerson, Peter Krikes, Nicholas Meyer, and Harve Bennett.
Summary: Returning from Vulcan in order to face trial, the former crew of the USS Enterprise finds Earth in danger from an alien probe attempting to contact humpback whales, which are extinct in the 23rd century. Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov travel back in time in the hopes of finding and bringing back humpback whales that can communicate with the probe. They find themselves in San Francisco, California, sometime during the 1980s.
Connection to Hamlet:
As Spock makes the calculations for time travel, McCoy worriedly recites, "Angels and ministers of grace, defend us!" When Spock correctly identifies the line as a quote from Act I, Scene IV, Kirk establishes his faith in Spock's memory and has the ship prepared for warp speed.
