Christopher Plummer
Christopher Plummer (December 23, 1929 - present) is probably best known for his role as Captain von Trapp the 1965 musical The Sound of Music, but he also played General Chang in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, in which he quotes several works of Shakespeare.
Plummer got his start as a Shakespearean actor, performing in plays such as King Lear and as Iago in Othello on Broadway. Early in Plummer's career, when he played Henry V at the Stratford Festival in Stratford, Ontario, his understudy was a young William Shatner. In addition to his work in theatre, Plummer played Hamlet in the 1964 TV movie Hamlet at Elsinore, as seen in this clip: |
