"Hide and Q"
As the 9th episode of the first season, "Hide and Q" was originally broadcasted on November 23, 1987. It was directed by Cliff Bole and written by C.J. Holland and Gene Roddenberry.
Summary: A mining colony transmits an urgent call for medical help after an accidental explosion, but while the Enterprise is en route, Q (John de Lancie) returns and demands that the crew abandon their mission to compete in a game. He teleports the bridge crew to a barren landscape and tests Riker by granting him the powers of the Q Continuum.
